Once you submit your event proposal, our team will assess and approve proposals to maintain a balanced mix of event types and schedules. Approved events will be promoted as part of Vancouver Tech Week.

Steps to Successfully Host Your Event

  1. Choose Your Event Format: You can host various types of events, provided they adhere to our rules. Some popular formats include:

  2. Plan Your Budget: As the event host, you will cover the costs of your event. Create a budget that can manage your event's expenses. If needed, consider partnering with a co-host to share costs.

  3. Select a Venue: You can host your event anywhere, but we recommend choosing venues in neighbourhoods like Downtown Vancouver, Richmond, and Burnaby to ensure higher attendance and engagement.

  4. Schedule Your Event: Suggest your preferred date and time. We may propose adjustments to avoid scheduling conflicts with similar events.

  5. Set Up an Event Registration Page: Create a registration page on Luma and list Vancouver Tech Week as a co-host. Your event must meet this requirement to be added to the official Tech Week calendar. If your event is by invitation only, indicate this in your submission.

  6. Filter Event Attendees: Include questions during registration (e.g., company, title, LinkedIn profile) to help screen and select attendees that fit your event's goals.

  7. Promote Your Event: As the event host, you are responsible for marketing your event to ensure its success. To enhance visibility, the Vancouver Tech Week team will promote all approved events on the Vancouver Tech Week calendar.
